Abstract
The conformationally constrained cis-cinnamic acid analogues, in which the aromatic ring and the cis-olefin are connected by a carbon bridge, were designed and synthesized in order to obtain useful information on the critical conformation needed for potency. Their inhibitory activities on the elongation of lettuce roots were also evaluated.
