Abstract
Four sesquiterpenoid derivatives, salaterpene A-E (1-4) together with two known compounds were isolated from the CH2Cl2-MeOH (1:1) extract of the seeds of Salacia longipes var. camerunensis. The isolates exhibited moderate potency in vitro against Plasmodium falciparum chloroquine- resistant strain W2 with IC50 below 2.7 μM.
