Abstract
ZAT12 is C2H2-type zinc finger protein (ZFP) which controls the expression of stress-activated genes via reactive oxygen species in plants. Drought engineered tomato lines ZT1 and ZT5 were tested for heat-shock tolerance. The transgenic tomato exhibited tolerance to heat-shock suggesting its use in increasing tomato yield in drought or heat-stress regions.
