Abstract
Five ABA biosynthetic genes were isolated and their expression studied in bilberry. Expression of 9-cis-epoxycarotenoid dioxygenase (VmNCED1) and putative neoxanthin synthase (VmNSY) increased at the onset of berry ripening along with the accumulation of ABA.
