Abstract
⺠We have isolated and characterized a Triticum dicoccon α-amylase inhibitor (ETI). ⺠ETI is a heterotetramer (CM subunits) homologous to inhibitors from common wheat. ⺠ETI subunits are also active, in binary assemblies, against heterologous α-amylases. ⺠Kis are estimated for PPA and HSA inhibition by the tetramer and the binary assembly. ⺠We propose a possible homology-modeled structure for a tetrameric assembly.
