Abstract
⺠Cassia bicapsularis cell cultures accumulate tetrahydroanthracenes. ⺠Addition of yeast extract resulted in 35-fold increase in octaketide synthase activity. ⺠Identified enzymatic products were torosachrysone (tetrahydroanthracene) and emodin anthrone. ⺠Confirmation of the products came from 13C incorporation.
