Abstract
⺠cis-Cinnamic acid analogues were synthesized and their inhibitory activities evaluated on elongation of lettuce roots. ⺠The cis-configuration, the carboxylate and the planar ring are essential for this activity. ⺠The photostability of the cinnamic acid derivatives was investigated using several light sources.
