Abstract
⺠Pollinator shifts are often accompanied by changes in floral olfactory cues. ⺠Floral scents of beetle-pollinated Protea species are chemically complex and dominated by fruit esters. ⺠Floral scent emissions from beetle-pollinated species are 10-fold greater than those of bird-pollinated species. ⺠Cetoniine beetles show a significant preference for fruity Protea scents.
