Abstract
⺠A series of friedelane-type triterpenes were isolated from Celastraceae species. ⺠Two friedelanes directly activated IR tyrosine phosphorylation in hepatocytes. ⺠They exhibited increased insulin-mediated Akt signalling in hepatocytes. ⺠Friedelane-type triterpenes have potential therapeutic use in T2DM.
