Abstract
⺠From branches of Microtropis japonica, nine aliphatic glucosides were isolated. ⺠(2S,3R)-2-Ethyl-2,3-dihydroxybutyrate was attached to the 6-position of the glucopyranose moiety. ⺠Four of the aliphatic glucosides contained a nitrile group in their aglycones. ⺠The absolute structure of microtropin A was determined by X-ray crystallography.
