Abstract
⺠Seven new steroidal saponins were isolated from a Venezuelan species of Solanum torvum. ⺠Their structures were determined by extensive 1D and 2D NMR spectral analysis and by mass spectrometry. ⺠They possess as aglycones the rare 3-keto/3β-OH, 6α-OH-5α-furostane- or spirostane type skeleton.
