Abstract
⺠Grass benzoxazinones such as DIMBOA readily react with thiols. ⺠DIMBOA reacts with glutathione to form stable spirocyclic adducts. ⺠Protein cysteinyl residues similarly react with DIMBOA. ⺠This reactivity is likely to result in toxicity on ingestion.
