Abstract
⺠Indole in rice is made by OsIGL, which is related to tryptophan synthase TSA. ⺠OsIGL was identified based on its biochemical property, gene expression and indole emission. ⺠The divergence of IGL from TSA occurred after the split of monocot and dicot lineages.
