Abstract
⺠1H NMR metabolic fingerprinting was applied to five mullein species. ⺠Mulleins were divided in two groups by principal component analysis. ⺠Several bioactive iridoid and phenylethanoid glycosides accumulate in mulleins. ⺠Verbascum xanthophoeniceum and Verbascum nigrum accumulate high amounts of harpagoside.
