Abstract
► A new membrane-bound phospholipase D is found in poppy seedlings. ► The enzyme is active at calcium ion concentrations in the micromolar range. ► The phospholipase D needs PIP2 for hydrolysis but not for transphosphatidylation. ► The enzyme has a high transphosphatidylation potential.
