Abstract
⺠A new membrane-bound phospholipase D is found in poppy seedlings. ⺠The enzyme is active at calcium ion concentrations in the micromolar range. ⺠The phospholipase D needs PIP2 for hydrolysis but not for transphosphatidylation. ⺠The enzyme has a high transphosphatidylation potential.
