Abstract
⺠Controlled growth experiments were conducted to understand the effect of temperature on leaf water 2H (deuterium) isotope enrichment and hydrogen isotope fractionation during biosynthesis of leaf lipids. ⺠Change in leaf temperature and/or transpiration may cause change in leaf water flowpath within leaf vasculature, hence affect the laminar 2H isotope enrichment. ⺠Temperature change from 20 to 30 °C has only negligible effect on hydrogen isotopic fractionation during lipid biosynthesis.
