Abstract
⺠Injury causes local and systemic changes in respiration and primary carbon metabolism. ⺠Metabolite profile suggests early glycolytic enzymes are limiting. ⺠Large increases in respiration are likely sustained by use of metabolic bypasses. ⺠Glycolysis and TCA cycle were generally able to support small respiratory increases. ⺠Elevations in respiration were associated with changes in cellular redox status.
