Abstract
⺠Solanesol could be developed as an important agricultural co-product. ⺠The solanesol biosynthetic pathway has been completely resolved. ⺠The genetic and environmental variation in plant solanesol content is unknown. ⺠Efficient methods of purifying solanesol from plant tissues have been developed.
