Abstract
⺠Phytosterols, phytosteryl conjugates identified in apple peel. ⺠Evaluated against necrosis (scald) altering treatments during storage. ⺠ASG, SE levels, scald altered by temperature, stress, ethylene. ⺠ASGs increased in conditions also inducing scald. ⺠ASG and SE biosyntheses may be linked.
