Abstract
⺠Yucca gloriosa L. rhizomes are a rich source of steroidal glycosides. ⺠The on-line screening by LC-MS of the dried BuOH extract obtained from Y. gloriosa rhizomes showed the occurrence of 12 steroidal glycosides as the main constituents. ⺠Five new steroidal glycosides were isolated and characterized by ESI-MS, HRMALDITOF, 1D- and 2D-NMR experiments. ⺠An LC-MS method validated according to European Medicines Agency (EMEA) guidelines was developed to carry out the quantitative analysis of the steroidal glycosides in Y. gloriosa rhizomes.
