Abstract
Genes coding for high efficient acyl-ACP thioesterases from castor plant were cloned, heterologously expressed, purified and their kinetic parameters were characterized. These proteins displayed kcat and catalytic efficiencies significantly higher than those found in FatAs from other plant species.
