Abstract
Transcriptional changes of sesquiterpene synthases PsTPS1 and PsTPS2 ((E)-β-caryophyllene/α-humulene synthase) and PsTPS2 (1(10),5-germacradiene-4-ol synthase) after sawfly oviposition on Pinus are species specific and time dependent. We also characterized a (E)-β-farnesene synthase from Pinus sylvestris (PsTPS5) which produces the compound previously determined to be responsible for egg parasitoid attraction.
