Abstract
From the roots of Maytenus vitis-idaea, four antiproliferative celastroids were isolated and identified, while the roots of Maytenus spinosa yielded two pentacyclic triterpenoids as well as two previously undescribed β-dihydroagarofuran sesquiterpenoid alkaloids.
