Metabolic fate of [carbonyl-14C]nicotinamide was investigated in leaf disks of seven mangrove plants. Nicotinamide was converted to nicotinic acid and utilised for the synthesis of pyridine nucleotides, trigonelline and nicotinic acid N-glucoside.
