Abstract
Rhaponticum carthamoides is a perennial herb which has been used for centuries in eastern parts of Russia as a medicinal plant, especially for its marked adaptogenic effect. This review summarizes and discusses current knowledge of traditional uses, chemistry, and biological effects of this species.
