Abstract
N-Prenyl natural products represent a family of rare secondary metabolites. Although few structures have been isolated and characterized, these alkaloids display interesting and valuable biological properties, mainly as anti-microbial, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer agents. In this comprehensive review the structures are divided by chemical categories, with an indication of their natural sources and biological activities described.
