Abstract
Hot-water extraction of the red seaweed Nemalion helminthoides led to the isolation of major amounts of sulfated (1 â 3)-linked α-d-mannans. A neutral xylan containing (1 â 3, 1 â 4)-linked β-d-xylose residues was also extracted in low yield.
