Abstract
Five acylated anthocyanidin 3-sophoroside-5-glucosides together with five known anthocyanins were identified in spider flowers. The five pelargonidin- and the five homologous cyanidin-derivatives occurred in flowers with pink and mauve colouration, respectively. The anthocyanins are similar to those of some genera in the sister family Brassicaceae.
