Abstract
Two novel anthocyanins were isolated from the orange-red flowers of Catharanthus roseus cv 'Equator Deep Apricot' as major anthocyanins, and identified to be rosinidin 3-O-[6-O-(α-rhamnopyranosyl)-β-galactopyranoside], and also 7-O-methylcyanidin 3-O-[6-O-(α-rhamnopyranosyl)-β-galactopyranoside] by chemical and spectroscopic methods.
