Abstract
The redirection of anthocyanin synthesis in Osteospermum hybrida away from delphinidin towards pelargonidin derivatives required both the introduction of dihydroflavonol 4-reductase activity with dihydrokaempferol as a substrate and the suppression of F3â²5â²H activity by means of genetic engineering.
