Abstract
Autoxidative damages were induced in cells of Emiliania huxleyi by culturing this strain under an atmosphere of air + 0.5% CO2. Several oxidation products of alkenones, sterols, monounsaturated fatty acids and chlorophyll phytyl side-chain could be detected after NaBH4 reduction and alkaline hydrolysis.
