Abstract
The (â) enantiomer of sophorol was more efficiently converted into (+) pisatin than its (+) antipode. Additionally, (â) sophorol reductase (Sor), expressed during synthesis of (+) pisatin, was cloned from pea. The results indicate that intermediates with a (â) chirality are involved in (+) pisatin biosynthesis.
