A hemiterpene glucoside as a probing deterrent of the bean aphid, Megoura crassicauda, from a non-host vetch, Vicia hirsuta

A specific probing deterrent for the bean aphid, Megoura crassicauda, was isolated from a non-host tiny vetch, Vicia hirsuta, and identified as (E)-2-methyl-2-butene-1,4-diol 4-O-β-d-glucopyranoside.
