Abstract
Two regioselective flavonol (RÂ =Â OH) and flavone (RÂ =Â H) glucosyltransferases from Beta vulgaris were cloned and functionally expressed in Escherichia coli. Enzyme activities are discussed with respect to substrate and position specificities as well as evolutionary aspects.
