Abstract
- An aromatic amide C-glycoside, a cyclitol derivative and four quinic acid derivatives have been isolated from the stem bark of Piper guineense.
- Direct interpretation of the spectroscopic data and comparison with the literature permitted the structure elucidation.
- Five of them were found to have significant radical scavenging activity using DPPH radical assay. Compounds 2 and 3 exhibited the highest activities with IC50 values of 8.35 and 7.06 μM, respectively.
