Abstract
- Four new steroids were isolated from roots and rhizomes of Panicum repens L. grass.
- Three of them possess a cholestane structure, and one a spirostane skeleton.
- Five known spirostane saponins also were isolated and characterized.
- This is the first report for isolation of cholestane skeleton from Panicum species.
