Abstract
⺠From Balanites aegyptiaca Del, four known spirostane and furostane saponins were isolated. ⺠Among the 4, SAP-1016 (1) showed potent anti-proliferative activity against human cancer cells. ⺠SAP-1016 also demonstrated apoptosis activation and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation.
