Abstract
Lupeol-3-(3â²R)-hydroxy-stearate can be mistakenly identified as lupeol acetate when only analyzed by GC-MS because of the thermally induced retro aldol reaction of 1 which results in the formation of lupeol acetate and hexadecanal.
