Triterpenoid saponins from Cylicodiscus gabunensis

Gabunoside (1), a new oleanane-type triterpene saponin determined as 3-O-[β-l-arabinopyranosyl-(1 → 2)-α-l-arabinopyranosyl-(1 → 3)-β-d-glucopyranosyl] maslinic acid-28-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl ester was established by direct interpretation of their spectral data, mainly HRESIMS, 1D and 2D NMR together with cylicodiscoside (2), and 3-O-[α-l-arabinopyranosyl-(1 → 3)-β-d-glucopyranosyl] cylicodiscic acid (3) from the stem bark of Cylicodiscus gabunensis.
