Abstract
► Phomopsis sp. PSU-MA214 produced a rare ethyl derivative of tetrahydroanthraquinones. ► The ethyltetrahydroanthraquinone showed weak antibacterial and cytotoxic activities. ► The biosynthetic pathway of the isolated anthraquinone derivatives was proposed. ► This is the first report on the X-ray data of the known tetrahydroaltersolanol C.
