Abstract
⺠Phytochemical investigation of the flowering aerial parts of Echinops galalensis. ⺠A new triterpene, 3β-acetoxy-taraxast-12, 20(30)-diene-11α,21α-diol, was isolated. ⺠Isolated compounds were tested for their protective effect on human hepatoma cells. ⺠The protective effect was suggested to be mediated by antioxidant activity.
