Abstract
A new acylated flavonoid glucoside named algerianin 1 and a new natural product, 4â²-methyl gossypetin, together with 10 known compounds, were isolated from Centaurea africana Lamk var. africana (Bonnet) M. Algerianin showed cytotoxicity against the human myeloid leukaemia cell line HL-60.
