Abstract
⺠In this study we described the isolation, structural elucidation of two new compounds, 3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenylpropane-7,8-(6â²-benzoyl-2â²,1â²-O-β-glucopyranosyl)-7,8,9-trio, and 2-hydroxyphenyl-4-caffeoyl-β-d-glucoside. ⺠We examined the activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv for all isolates. ⺠We found that compound 8-hydroxy-6-methoxy-3-pentylisocoumarin was active against M. tuberculosis H37Rv with an MIC value of 40.5 μg/mL. This was the first time that the biological activity was reported for 8-hydroxy-6-methoxy-3-pentylisocoumarin.
