Abstract
A new triterpenoid, 2α, 3β, 20β, 23-tetrahydroxy-urs-12, 19 (29)-dien-28-oic acid, together with eight known triterpenoids, was isolated from the aerial parts of Salvia chinensis. Their structures were identified by spectroscopic analyses. The antiproliferative effects and differentiation induction abilities of these compounds were determined in human leukemia HL-60 cells.
