Abstract
The structure development of the miscible PLLA/PVAc blend during the oriented crystallization was investigated. The high crystallization rate induced the conventional oriented PLLA lamellae embedded in the homogeneous amorphous matrix, while the low temperature crystallization of PLLA from the oriented blend results in a micro-phase separated structure where PLLA lamellae are aligned in the PLLA-rich phase. The observed phenomenon may open a new strategy for fabricating nanostructured multi-component polymeric materials from miscible polymer blends.
