Abstract
The results have shown that the applied stress and energy absorbed for deformations higher than approximately 20% are clearly modified if the stress is corrected. Modifications of 30% for the absorbed energy have been detected for a low-density EVA foam. The correction increases when the material stiffness is reduced. In addition, it has been shown that the Poisson's ratio of the foams has three main zones as a function of the impact strain, showing higher values at low and high deformations.
