Abstract
A thermoplastic elastomer vulcanizate (TPV), was blended with emulsion prepared polyaniline-doped with dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (Pani.DBSA). Pani.DBSA was characterized by ultraviolet (UV)-visible (vis), wide-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS) and superficial electrical resistivity techniques. The semi-conductive thermoplastic elastomer vulcanizate (SCTPV) was submitted to mechanical and electrical tests and its reprocessing capability was tested. Even after three reprocessing cycles, the SCTPV showed practically unaffected mechanical and electrical properties, which indicates that the proposed SCTPV can be used successfully for preparation of pressure sensitive elements.
