Abstract
N-Acylation of anilines with 1, 3-diketones promoted by AIBN (2-2â²-azoisobutyronitrile) under metal-free and peroxide-free conditions in the presence of molecular oxygen as oxidant has been described. This protocol proceeds by the oxidative cleavage of C-C bond with simultaneous intermolecular C-N bond formation under mild conditions.
