Abstract
Continuous chemical investigation of the soft coral Klyxum molle resulted in the isolation of six new eunicellin-derived diterpenoids, klymollins Y (1), Z (2), and klyxumollins A-D (3-6), together with two known compounds (7 and 8). The planar structures and relative configurations of these new compounds were elucidated by MS, 1D and 2D NMR experiments. Klyxumollins C (5) represents the first 6,7-secoeunicellin possessing an ester group at C-6 and 6 is the first eunicellin comprising with an aromatic ether linkage. Anti-inflammatory and cytotoxic activities of the isolates were reported.
