Abstract
Fe(III)-catalyzed disproportionation of benzyl alcohols via a trityl ether intermediate was achieved under neat conditions irradiated by microwave. The substituent effects were examined by chemical kinetic plots and the mechanism of the transformation was studied by a crossover experiment.
